Mollie on the lakeIce Water.

Mollie and I took a walk on the lake this morning.

It’s that time of year when a strong sense of transformation is all around. The lake is certainly changing. The ice surface is wet. It looks wet. It smells wet. It is wet. It’s wet with several inches of fresh melt and rain water.

That means ice cover is in questionable condition and increasingly unsafe.

And even though the day is rainy and gloomy there is now a hint of springtime at the lake. It was detectable in that for the first time this year the moistness made the air smell different. You know… that kind of sweet wet smell…

The smell of springtime.

Oops!

The day has slipped by without a meaningful real estate post. This universally beneficial information has to be a more-than-appropriate substitute.

Sans News.

Is a day with no news possible?

What if the world had a day when nothing new occurred? Nothing changed. Everything is the same. Yesterday is today. Maybe that would be a nice break… if everyone decided today offered exactly the same situation as yesterday. (See Groundhog Day, the movie.)

Of course, this is pretty far fetched.

But today I could not find anything significantly new about Lake Vermilion… real estate included. Today was the day time stood still. On Lake Vermilion, at least.

Did anyone else notice?

News Flash, Part II!

Apparently the Sasquatch photographer forget he had some additional film footage of the elusive beast.

(I’ve seen people run back into the sauna with a similar stride.)

Update! The Sasquatch videos have been removed! Perhaps the entire exercise can be summed up in this viewer’s comment… “When I first saw the recent video footage of the supposed Big Foot at Ely, Minnesota…I was sure that was just my mother in-law.”

Some Other News.

Minnesota, The Land of 10,000 Lakes, is now apparently offering game fish in new designer colors. Introducing… the new Blue Perch. U. S. Steel Corporation has literally changed direction in a revised proposal to pump down excess tailings basin water. Local townships decide it’s time for a change with a message from the voting booth. The St. Louis County Planning Department has continuing news on the 3 Bays on Vermilion proposed development. (Note: The online information may not contain all information to date.
