The Opener Cometh.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press via the Outdoors News via the Lake Vermilion Trading Company has the Opening Day fishing report…

“Crappie reports continue to be limited by cool water temperatures. Look to the bays and shorelines to produce small walleyes this weekend. The bigger fish tend to gather between 24 and 35 feet of water. A jig and minnow presentation should work best opening day.”

Remember, starting this year on Lake Vermilion, the daily limit is 4 walleyes and there is a new slot restriction. Also, there are areas of the lake closed for a limited time.

Good luck to all. And take a kid with you!
