Two Bits.

There’s a big event planned at the State Capital on April 12th. The Governor will unveil the new Minnesota quarter. That’s the new $.25.

It’s been some time in the making but the final design has been approved and the Denver and Philadelphia Mints are now churning out the new quarters. The new coin is pictured here. You can review the other design finalists here to see if your favorite got the nod. I think the approved design is OK.

You’re invited to join in the celebration. There will be celebrities, dignitaries, student learning experiences, fish and bird displays, armored cars filled with the new coins, blueberries muffins with milk, and a free quarter to anyone under the age of 18.

Sounds like a real Minnesota party.
