I got a disclosure in the mail the other day. It was from my bank. They sent me a “Your Right to Privacy” disclosure. It was intended to remind me of my financial privacy rights. The disclosure portion tells me whom the bank might share my personal information with, the details of that information, and for what purpose this information might be used.

That’s fine. Disclosure is a good thing.

In fact, disclosure is now a mandated element when selling real estate in Minnesota. Senate File 2697, effective January 1,2003, requires all sellers of real property (intended to be utilized as a single family residence) to provide written disclosure to prospective buyers or transferees. Please contact me if you would like additional details on sellers disclosure or if you would like a copy of the current Sellers Disclosure.
