Spring-Bay-iceGoing… going….

Here’s your ice-out update.

The ice on Spring Bay (the far west end of the lake) is not lookin’ good. There’s a widening perimeter of open water around the bay. Spring Bay is one of the first bays on the west end to convert to liquidity. The most welcome and pleasing attribute of this renewed surface is the shimmer. Not since last October (that’s about 7 months) has the combination of sun and breeze lit the lake up like it did today. That’s nice.

I may have waited too long to post this related link. It might just be too late to make your very own fire-starting ice-lens.
