Water from the west!

Here’s a fresh weekend photo of Sunset Creek. It was a day of warm sun and blue water but the only evidence of the Spring melt is still contained in the creeks and rivers. The lake is still solid.

Sunset Creek drains Sunset Lake (Sunset Lake is over 300 acres but it’s only 6 feet deep.) The commute time for water leaving Sunset Creek is minimal. Lake Vermilions’ Head-O-Lakes Bay is just around the corner. Sunset Creek is one of the few tributaries on the west end of the lake.

The Lake Vermilion Sportman’s Club should be installing their Northern Pike trap in the creek within the next couple of weeks. I try to include a photo of the trap in a future post.
