2003 OpenerYa gotta love this place!

Well, the 2003 Opener is in the books.

We got on the lake at a respectable hour. If you were there you know it was cool (about 40 degrees in the morning) but there was no wind so it was certainly tolerable. We fished most of the day and tried a half dozen different spots. We “fished hard” to catch fish. I think the cool weather and lack of wind made the walleyes less than enthusiastic about Opening Day. It wasn’t always obvious when a fish was tapping on our jigs. So we missed a few. OK, we missed quite a few. But eight respectable fish made the stringer.

So it was a good day.

And a few fish just made it better.
