Beautiful late summer weather here at the lake. We would normally associate very warm and calm weather with the months of July and August. And the phrase that comes to mind, of course, with this sultry period is “Dog Days”. Most folks would assume, come the middle days of September, that “Dog-type Days” would be behind us. Not so this year. Today, this sailboater was undoubtedly enjoying the extended Summer weather.

For your information, the phrase “Dog Days” is associated with that time of year when the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, rises and sets with the Sun. Get the complete explanation of “Dog Days” here. Enjoy the lake.
