Pike River waterA River Runs To It.

It was last year about this time I posted a photo of the Pike River. An annual event might be developing here.

For those that pass the river on Highway 77 with any frequency, this image will not be news. For anyone else, it is confirmation the lake is receiving it’s annual Spring transfusion from the Pike River watershed.

The lake’s remaining ice pack still looks pretty solid. So there is still considerable work to be done in the melt and thaw department.

The typical ice-out date is plus or minus a week of May 1.

Lakevermilion.com has all the previous ice-out dates noted here .
