May 15th is the Minnesota Fishing Opener. So it’s about time to start thinking about fish and fishing.

The DNR folks that keep a watchful eye on the quality and quantity of the Lake Vermilion fishery have this to say about the coming Fishing Season…

“…anglers will know what to expect when they hit the lake this spring — lots of 11- and 12-inch fish from the class of 2001 and a larger than average number of walleyes from 17 to 21 inches, those 1997 and 1998 year classes.”

If your attraction to fish goes beyond the Walleye, then FishBase will be of interest to you. It’s got to be HUMANKIND’S LARGEST DATABASE OF FISH FACTS.
