I should report that this paltry -40 degree outdoor temperature put Cook, MN a considerable distance up the thermal leader board when, on that same morning, the fair town of Embarrass, MN recorded an impressive -54. That bog fringed town was quite possibly aided in its’ recovery from the freeze by the uninvited attention of an overwhelming media moment in the sun.

Typically, local residents do not intentially seek the notoriety sometimes given to these natural events.

But as a testimony to their resolve the hearty Northlanders usually find a way to tolerate unmerited heat.
