Marriage Reminder.
It’s that time of year for questions about ice and the phenomena known as “Ice-Out”.
LakeVermilion.com has got the topic covered. Their 9th Annual Ice-Out Contest is up and running. Submit your guess now and win a mug! All the Lake Vermilion Ice-Out facts are posted plus the previous dates, statistics, and historical data.
As of today and per my observations, the ice surface is still mostly intact although there are certainly expanding poor and marginal ice areas throughout the lake. I would guess the ice will deteriorate at a rate this Spring that will put the 2005 Ice-Out Date at April 26th. (And if so… Happy Anniversary, Bren!)
