Deer Camp.
A retreat to the northwoods during this time of year is an experience that, unless you are the type that would naturally be drawn into such an activity, is difficult to fully appreciate. But deer camp is just one of those gatherings that contains certain beneficial elements that go beyond rational comprehension.
I suppose it’s a combination of the hunt itself, the absence of routine, the interesting company, spirited conversation, the unlimited availability of bacon, and generous doses of fresh, crisp air.
Anyway… whatever it is that attracts any of us to Deer Camp, it is an annual sojourn that is welcomed and anticipated.
It’s a great time of year.
