Today.

Today is January 24th.

Experts tell us today is the “most depressing day of the year”.

(A quick check on the Hallmark Card website shows no products associated with the word “depressing”. A missed opportunity.) I would hope these same experts have determined the happiest day of the year, too.

The accompanying photo was taken without knowledge of this darkest day. I suppose it could be representative of the Lake Vermilion area version of January 24th. It’s a whitetail deer in a snowy field at dusk.

Maybe it would make a nice greeting card.
