Sunset CreekNice Walleye.

It’s tough to offer a fishing report that would sum up the typical Opening Day experience. (One local report complained of …“too many slot-sized fish!”)

Those that dropped their boat into Lake Vermilion waters found some areas that were not accessible due to remaining ice cover. To top off the winter-like atmosphere the area had a period of wet snow fall on late Saturday afternoon and evening.

The ground was white on Sunday morning.

If you were not able to get on the lake for Opening Weekend… plan to visit your favorite Lake Vermilion fishing hole soon. The taste of fresh Walleye from ice cold water is tough to beat.
