Another Leif Celebration.

Yesterday was a special day for Scandinavian Americans. Yesterday, as proclaimed by President Bush, was Leif Erikson Day.

Leif, as you may know, was one of the first Europeans to set foot in North America. I am a day late in recognizing this event that enjoys it’s highest visibility in the states of the Upper Midwest.

Our President was also tardy in allowing ample time to prepare for Leif’s special day. The President’s Official Proclamation was not released until October 8th. That’s two days ago and a day before the event.

I suppose The Pres is busy with other things. At least, I would hope he is.
