Sigh.
The local woods has, for the most part, lost it’s color. The lake continues to release it’s summer heat. Buoys, docks and boat lifts are winched from the water.
The early stages of the winter half of the year can easily contain a sense of melancholy. It’s a mindset that’s tough to suppress.
Fortunately, it’s a temporary state. Optimism trumps melancholy every time.
Winter contains it’s own demands and now is not the time to defer our preparation. There are better days ahead.
Maybe a little colder but certainly better.
