2008 deer camp2008 Deer Camp.

The hallmarks that define November make this 30 day span the most likely to perennially finish in the Honorable Mention Category in the Favorite Month of the Year Competition. (Wow! What a sentence!)

November is notable for decreasing daylight, increasingly lower temperatures, and more cloud cover than at any other time of year. Most would probably agree that November has few redeeming qualities.

There are two exceptions.

One is the Thanksgiving Holiday. That’s a favorite.

And, secondly, for the carnivores in the audience there is, of course, Deer Camp.

Deer Camp, for those that embrace the activity, will turn those negative aspects of November into elements of the hunt. Hunters understand why November is the best month. So ask that uncle, cousin, or neighbor if they would escort you to a visit of their Deer Camp. You will find that November has a much different look and feel from the other side of the hunt.

See you in the woods.

  1. Always remember to wear orange when in the field, red is not orange.
