The United States Coast Guard has been in existence for about 95 years.
Their multifaceted mission includes the broad topic of marine safety. The Coast Guard has been a strong advocate of marine safety for many years and now… according to a recent announcement by the Coast Guard’s Marine Safety Unit based in Duluth, Minnesota, our area border lakes, including Lake Vermilion, will soon have an increased Coast Guard presence to promote safer boating practices.
