The Skinny.

February 25, 2010

The Minneapolis Association of Realtors posts a monthly video report on the Twin Cities area real estate market conditions. The video is short, sweet, and to the point.

The most recent video offers some (mostly) encouraging market news.  View it here.

Tools Change.

February 24, 2010

Real estate sales is a business activity that relies on imagery as, perhaps, it’s most effective marketing tool.

Some Sellers find that their property, because of it’s complexity, will require images to effectively detail the complete story of their property’s features.

Fortunately, there are abundant tools to insure that prospective Buyers see the information they need to qualify a potential property of interest.

Custom online maps are certainly one way to provide information on a feature rich property.  Maps populated with location specific links that are tied to additional layers of information is one pretty nice solution.

I have a current listing that takes advantage of those tools.  It’s a large Lake Vermilion property (offered in several variations) where the listing information includes an enhanced Google map.  I think all parties benefit when imagery helps the Seller to sell and the Buyer to buy.

View the listing here.  View the map here.

I hard to believe that, not so many years ago, Buyers received 4 by 6 glossy photos sent through the mail as a response to their request for additional listing information.

Wow.

A Pair of Symbols.

It is reasonable to expect that a casual trip down the lake will produce at least one opportunity to trip the shutter on your camera.

Such was the case this past weekend with these two Bald Eagles.  They, apparently, have decided to tough out the winter on Lake Vermilion’s Center Island.

The Invitation.

February 20, 2010

I got an email a couple of days ago.

It was an invitation.  An invitation to go to the lake. To fish.  On the lake. Lake Vermilion.  On a Friday afternoon.  20 degrees above zero.  Sunny skies.  No wind.  A quiet and isolated bay with no other fisherpeople in sight.

I went.

We caught fish.  Nice fish.  Nice Walleyes.  On the lake.  Lake Vermilion.

If you get an invite to go fish.  Go.  To the lake.  To fish.  I recommend Lake Vermilion.

You, too, will be thankful for the invitation.

The invitation to fish.

The Header Photo.

February 16, 2010

The photo at the top of this website is a view across a (very small) portion of Lake Vermilion.  I thought, perhaps, some of the frequent visitors here may have wondered where I snapped that image.

The best way to show you is to point you towards the “Current Lakeshore Listing Map” (on the right side of the page) and tell you to go to the west side of Lake Vermilion and look for the green marker.  The photo was taken from that elevated shoreline looking towards the south-southwest.

Now you know.
