October Lake.
This time of year can bring a regular plethora of weather events. It is therefore prudent of any boat traveler to keep a wary eye to the horizon in search of changing conditions.
Today we see the first mention of snow in the weather reports.
I’m sure there are many pleasant days ahead but today may not be the day to linger on the waters of the lake. Actually late Fall can offer one of the best times to get on the water.
So watch the weather and enjoy when you can.

Out of town. But just for the weekend.
We have been invited to attend a couple of special events for a special person at this fine institution. Back on Monday.
It looks like a great weather weekend is on tap. So get into the woods or on the lake and enjoy. Bring a kid, too.

Here’s a different way to look the Lake Vermilion area weather forecast.
I’m don’t know who set this up or who maintains it but the information is sourced from the DeJoVu Observatory located on Daisy Bay of Lake Vermilion. The site is just one of over 1900 observation sites in North America tied to web page called ClearDarkSky.
It’s kinda interesting.

The 9th Month.
I’ve probably said it before and I’m sure it’s a common small-talk comment but…
“This really is the nicest time of year.”
So here’s the new calendar.
Forget January, February, and March. Skip forward to May. The year starts with May. June, July, August, and September stay intact. In fact, October and November stay in place, too. And December. But then we go back to September… and we have another three more Septembers in a row. September, September, September.
That’s a total of four Septembers a year.
Perfect.
